About Me

As a celebrant I tend to make everything about my clients, but it’s good to let you know a bit about me and my background. I grew up in the countryside in the West of Ireland, and although I’ve been in the UK for many years I still seem to have some of my accent.

I have lived in Brighton for over 12 years and still love all it has to offer. I live with my husband Al, and our 2 cats, Buster & Pixie. I adore being outdoors, and I try to take advantage of the beautiful Sussex countryside as often as I can. Luckily a number of my friends are keen walkers, and we often take the opportunity to sample some of the fabulous country pubs around.

I love to laugh and spend time with people, I particularly enjoy meeting new people and finding out about their experiences. I am lucky enough to be able to volunteer at the Brighton Open Air Theatre and at the Brighton Early Music Festival, where I meet a wide range of people, and brings a lot of variety to my life.

Before training as a celebrant I had an interesting and varied career, starting out in marketing communications, mainly organising exhibitions and events. Then after taking time out to travel I moved into the public sector, working in both the fertility and the death sectors. I’m also  a qualified counsellor and volunteered at the local women’s centre for a number for years.

You can probably tell I like variety, and I think this helps me with the creative side of being a celebrant. I trained with the Institute of Professional Celebrants and I attend regular training days to keep learning. I hold full indemnity insurance and work to the highest industry standards.
